What I am currently doing with my small business

Sprinkles and Smiles specialize in baking cakes, biscuits and pastries which are sold to the community, family and friends. I am a 35year old female who has a passion for baking and cooking. I am currently on disability grant due to be diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. living off a disability grant was not going to help me, that made me realize that I needed to do something to make extra money to survive. I started a small laundry business called “CJ’s Laundry on call” at home where I do peoples laundry. I created a Facebook page where I advertise. I also offer collection and delivery at a fee to cover my petrol. It hasn’t helped much yet coz most of the money I use to pay for electricity, water and chemicals to operate. I kept doing because, if I could make a loaf of breads money out of it then its more than enough for me because I didn’t have the money to buy that bread. I then came across the Al Fidaa school of baking on social media and was verry happy to see that they are helping people and offer free courses to the community, I immediately applied for it and about 2months later I started the baking course thanks to Al Fidaa foundation for the opportunity to help me up my skills in the baking industry. I make use of social media platforms to advertise my baked goods. Limited equipment and recourses do not, allow my business to expand.

If I acquired funding this is how I would expand my small business

Investing in new products and services. Buying of new and bigger equipment. It will allow me to grow bigger and better. Possible job opportunities which will assist me. the funding will allow my business to have a steady positive cash flow. Opportunities to grow and add new services such as catering for small and big Events and supply to small shops. My vision is to grow even bigger in future to supply to grocery stores.

My funding will be used for the following listed below:
Hisense 508L Sides by Side Fridge R10500.00
Defy 900mm 5burner Gas/Electrical Stove R12000.00
Kenwood Chef XL kitchen machine R6000.00
Baking Equipment (baking pans, trays and gadgets) R3500.00
Baking Ingredients (flour, milk, sugar, egg etc.) R4000.00
Packaging Materials (Boxes, cling wrap, baking paper etc.) R2000.00
Business Branding (Business cards, banner, stickers etc.) R2000.00

How will funding impact my small business

Funding will allow my business to take advantage of new opportunities that arise. It would also help take my business to the next level. it will allow me to produce more product which means I will make more profit and it will allow me to employ more people. It could also open bigger doors for the business for example: supplying bigger stores with my goods. buying of new assets to help grow the business. the funding would also help to open a soup kitchen in the Gelvandale area where the is a major need for it.
